President Muhammadu Buhari gave President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu a tour of the State House offices on Friday in preparation for the May 29 inauguration.
At 1:18 p.m., Buhari and Tinubu made their way to the press gallery after attending the Friday Jummat prayers at the Aso Mansion Mosque.
The President took the incoming President on a tour of the President’s Wing of the State House with the assistance of the highest-ranking officials there, including the Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and the Permanent Secretary, Umar Tijjani.
“This is the gallery where you will be meeting members of the press,” Buhari told Tinubu as both men emerged from the waiting room of the Aso Chambers.
Only a day earlier, in the State House Banquet Hall, the President had awarded Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, the national honours of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger to Tinubu.
In advance of the formal transfer of power on Monday, May 29, 2023, both leaders exchanged paperwork.
Recall that on Thursday, Senator Kashim Shetima, the Vice President-elect, was shown around the vice presidential wing of Aso Rock.
