A Ugandan government minister, Charles Engola who was under the care of a Ugandan national army member has been shot dead.
The Deputy Minister of Labour was shot on Tuesday morning at his residence in Kampala, the country’s capital.
It is still unclear if the soldier and his employer had a disagreement.
An official who was being looked after by a member of the Ugandan national army was shot and killed.
Charles Engola, a retired colonel who served as the country’s deputy minister of labor, was shot early on Tuesday in Kampala, the nation’s capital.
The Speaker of Parliament, Ms Anita Among, also confirmed the minister’s death while presiding over the plenary session this morning.
“This morning, I received sad news that Hon Engola has been shot by his bodyguard and after, shot himself. May his soul rest in peace. That was God’s plan. We can’t change anything,” Ms Among said.
