No fewer than 24 coronavirus (COVID-19) patients died from complication related to the disease on Friday, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported.
The NCDC, which disclosed this on Saturday 13th February 2021 said Nigeria recorded 1,005 fresh cases, bringing total confirmed cases to 144,521. Total confirmed deaths due to the covid-19 disease is now 1,734 deaths.
Till date, 144521 cases have been confirmed, 118866 cases discharged and 1734 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
The 1005 new cases are reported from 19 states- Lagos (204), Kwara (155), Oyo (124), Plateau (80), FCT (75), Edo (56), Osun (48), Ondo (41), Kaduna (40), Rivers (40), Taraba (35), Borno (32), Ekiti (21), Ogun (20), Kano (14), Bayelsa (8), Delta (7), Bauchi (3) and Jigawa (2).
The health agency added that their discharges today include 408 community recoveries in Lagos State and 99 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines. A breakdown of cases by state can be found here.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government through the Attorney General, Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, warned those planning to stage a protest today at the Lekki Toll Gate that the law would not permit them to violate COVID-19 restrictions such as social distancing as well as gatherings of not more than 50 persons and other safety measures.
