The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has joined the All-Progressives Congress (APC) along with the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legacy coalition.
His defection happened as the APC in Edo State inaugurated its National Working Committee of the Edo governorship election campaign on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, the governors of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Cross River, Bassey Otu, as well as the gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and former governor Adams Oshiomole.
After his long-running feud with the governor, Shaibu was impeached as deputy governor but was reinstated by a High Court in Abuja last week.
