Nigeria’s Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has issued a heartfelt appeal to its customer base across the South East region in light of the ongoing poor power supply predicament.
Citing low power generation as the primary culprit behind the situation, the company has witnessed a noticeable decline in the provision of electricity.
Addressing journalists, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, conveyed the plea, urging customers to demonstrate patience during this challenging period.
Ezeh elucidated that the diminished power generation has translated into a reduced daily allocation of megawatt hour (MWH) of energy to distribution companies nationwide, consequently impacting service quality for customers.
“We understand the inconveniences this situation has caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding as it is beyond us,” Ezeh appealed. “We can only distribute what is allocated to us.” he added.
He then underscored that, “Effort is being made by the various stakeholders in the power sector to address this issue, and we hope this yields positive result so that normal distribution would return.”
Ezeh reassured stakeholders that concerted efforts are underway within the power sector to address the underlying issues, expressing optimism for a prompt resolution and the subsequent restoration of regular power distribution.
Furthermore, Ezeh affirmed EEDC’s unwavering commitment to enhancing service delivery for its valued customers, reaffirming the company’s dedication to excellence amidst challenges.
