Egypt has successfully mediated the resolution of key obstacles that had stalled the prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, according to Egyptian security sources cited by Ma’an news agency.
The sources confirmed that Israel has agreed to permit the entry of mobile homes and engineering equipment into Gaza for rubble clearance, a condition that had led to the suspension of prisoner releases in recent days.

With this agreement in place, the weekly exchange is expected to resume on Saturday, February 15, 2025, with three Israeli captives set to be freed in exchange for several Palestinian detainees.
The provision of mobile homes and humanitarian aid had been a major point of contention in the negotiations.
Hamas had halted the phased release of Israeli captives in protest over these unmet demands.
However, with Israel’s approval of the first batch of trucks carrying mobile homes, engineering equipment, and tents, the process is now set to move forward.
