The 2019 African Cup of Nations Organizing Committee has revealed the AFCON 2019 Mascot; the child “Tut” modelled after the Pharaoh, King Tutankhamun.

As the competition will be held in Egypt, it was only natural that the branding was to be heavily influenced by Egyptian culture.

The tournament’s official Facebook account published a video of the new mascot with the comment:

“After a long journey. It has finally arrived. Welcome with us our special host in the 2019 Africa Cup 😉 # Egypt_2019 #”.

The director of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Mohamed Fadl revealed the official tournament mascot, which represents a child wearing an Egyptian shirt and a pharaonic outfit, his foot on the official championship’s ball.
