A fire has destroyed parts of the popular Balogun Market on Lagos Island, Southwest Nigeria.
The incident was confirmed by Jubril Gawat, the SSA to the Lagos State Governor on Media.
The incident occurred Tuesday morning. However, the cause and magnitude of the fire is yet to be known.
It was gathered that the fire erupted at 32 Balogun plaza, where ladies’ shoe dealers are.
As of the time of filing this report, two divisions of the Lagos Fire Service have arrived the scene to put out the fire.
Firefighters from the United Bank of Africa ( UBA) are also helping the state’s operatives to combat the incident.
