Uhuru Kenyatta: Ex-Kenyan President to Lead AU Mission in Nigeria Elections (News Central TV)

Former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has been appointed to lead the African Union’s observation mission in Nigeria’s upcoming general elections.

The observer mission includes members from the election bodies of AU member states, civil society, independent experts, and AU organisations.

The goals for Uhuru Kenyat include providing an accurate and unbiased review of the electoral process and making recommendations for future elections based on the findings.

It will also show the AU’s solidarity and support for the consolidation of democracy, peace, stability, and development in Nigeria.

They will meet with electoral authorities, candidates, civil society leaders, and security officials in Nigeria before releasing a preliminary assessment on February 27.
