The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has authorised N100,000 for the state’s retirees, public employees, and civil servants.
George Nwaeke, the head of state’s service, signed and issued a statement on Tuesday conveying the consent.
The approval was granted on Monday, according to Dr. Nwaeke, so that the employees and older residents may enjoy a happy Christmas celebration.
The state’s civil servants will get a Christmas bonus of 100,000 naira for the second time under the Fubara administration. This sum is greater than the country’s minimum salary, and it is the first time that pensioners will be eligible.
In the meantime, Fubara called on the state’s citizens to embrace love, peace, and unity both during and after the holiday season in a Christmas message.
In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor stressed the value of peaceful cohabitation, especially when it comes to tackling the country’s present security and economic issues.
He gave the residents of Rivers State his word that the upcoming year would bring them both long-term satisfaction and new chances.
