Young people in the African region have received a message from the election of Abdoulie Njai, the Republic of The Gambia‘s youngest parliamentarian in the Sahel Region.
Many young people have been inspired by this to think about changing the narrative and getting involved in projects that would bring about the desired change.
Many young people are being encouraged by his election to think outside the box and try their hand at political leadership.
Njai, a 26-year-old independent representative for Banjul Central, was just voted to government.
At a yearly three-day gathering with young people from different nations and the 15 counties of Liberia, the Youth Network for Positive Change (YOUNETPO), presented him with the prize.
The group claimed that his unselfish passion to serving his people and his dedication to mankind moved them.
In addition to the reasons listed above, the young parliamentarian should be honored for his bravery in defying all odds to speak on behalf of young people at that level.
MP Abdoulie Njai was visibly moved and fighting back tears as he received the prize.
He was unable to speak at least twice, but he picked himself up and stated, “I consider it a great honor to be given this unique African Iconic Award. I want to thank everyone who supported me and came along on this incredible journey, especially Team Andandorr.”

He claimed that the honor was not for him, but rather for the young people who requested him to compete because they believed in him.
“I consider myself lucky to have received this award from The Youth Network for Positive Change who are changing lives by the day. I hope to continue doing my best in the future to stand for young people and Africa as a continent” the young lawmaker said with a bright smile on his face.
