Some streets in Kaduna State were flooded with red-capped supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement as they cheered the convoy of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf had been away from the state due to the legal tussle over his position. The Court of Appeal sacked him as the Kano leader and declared the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Nasiru Gawuna as the winner of the March 2023 poll. But he challenged the development with the Supreme Court reserving judgment on the matter.

Governor Yusuf arrived at the Supreme Court in Abuja on Friday ahead of the final rulings on the gubernatorial disputes from last year.

Instead of heading to Kano, the Governor opted for neighbouring Kaduna State– where, his motorcade drove through crowded streets.

Teeming crowds poured into the streets to welcome Governor Abba back. Wearing the red attire of the Kwankiwasiya movement.

Some of the supporters carried banners and posters with “Abba is our Choice” and “Justice for Kano” to receive the Governor at Kwanar Dangora from where they accompanied the Governor’s motorcade to the Government House.
