Davido’s son clocked one on the 20th of October, and Davido has taken to Twitter to wish his only son a happy birthday. “Happy birthday to my beloved son DAVID IFEANYI ADEDEJI ADELEKE Jr !!! Today a king was born!! 🤴!! May you become more than me in Jesus name! LOVE YOU SON ❤️”
But a Twitter user, who is a Nigerian medical student has lamented about what he is going through on social media. The medic while reacting to Davido’s birthday post to his son said he has remained stagnant for years.
In his words, he has been in year 4 since the conception, delivery of Ifeanyi Adeleke, and has now witnessed the boy clock one
“Ifeanyi dey come earth, I dey 400 level
Ifeanyi reach earth land for UK, I still dey 400 level.
Now ifeanyi don clock 1 year wan start school, I still dey 400level…Baba God,is it until ifeanyi meet me for med school?”
A Nigerian medical student identified as Ibironke Adebayo on Twitter has complained about his current predicament on social media.
Adebayo had reacted to a post shared by singer Davido in which he penned a lovely message to his son, Ifeanyi, who just clocked the age of one.
The medical student noted that he was in year 4 when news broke that Davido was expecting his first son with Chioma Rowlands
Adebayo said that even after the baby arrived, he was still at the same level in school.
Now that Davido’s son has clocked the age of one, an aggrieved Adebayo noted that nothing has changed as he is still at the same level at school.
A lot of other students appeared to relate strongly with Adebayo’s frustrations. Many were seen in the comment section giving personal experiences about how they have remained in the same spot due to the disruption of academic calendars.
Below are some of the lamentations of Nigerian students:
“I feel your pain dear…The story isn’t different for me here.I already spent 7years in med school and still in 500 level. It isn’t as though I repeated a class o..And with the situations we are in,we are still counting years..Sad”
“This is funny but its no joke cos it the story of every Nigeria student in public schools, while these politicians send their kids abroad and not care about our standard of education. #EndSARS”
“Everyday I sober bitterly and ask why am a citizen of this hellhole called Nigeria and then I realize I have a role to play to make the country a better place where dreams becomes reality.. To this, I will never give up the fight to end #BadGovernanceInNigeria
“It seems so funny but at the same time so pathetic, sadly this government are the real destiny killer stagnating people progress/ destiny with mediocrity just what @Oyemykkee was saying”
“But u suppose know say 400level is the longest in med school.. plus all these wahala of corona virus & lock down.. Hang in there dear.. God no go shame us..”
