The anti-government protests in Nakuru, Kenya took a violent turn when three individuals, including a journalist from Kameme radio and TV, were injured.
Wanjeri wa Kariuki, the female journalist, was reportedly shot three times in the thigh despite being visibly marked with a press card and jacket.
She was subsequently rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
Two other people were injured by gunshots during the protests, including one with a gunshot wound to the leg and another to the back.
In a separate incident, a protester was critically injured by a stone intended for the police.
