Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced fresh appointments and the redeployment of several Heads of Agencies and Special Advisers in the state.
The new changes, which took effect immediately, were disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.
Among those appointed are prominent public health expert and hematologist, Dr. Ibrahim Musa, who has been named Special Adviser on Health Services and Personal Physician to the Governor.
Also joining the new team is well-known Kannywood actor, Sani Musa Danja, who has been appointed Special Adviser on Youth and Sports.
The full list of newly appointed officials, along with their respective roles, is as follows:
1. Dr. Ibrahim Musa – Special Adviser, Health Services, and Personal Physician to the Governor
2. Dr. Hadiza Lawan Ahmad – Special Adviser, Investment and Public-Private Partnership
3. Sani Musa Danja – Special Adviser, Youth and Sports
4. Barr. Aminu Hussain – Special Adviser, Justice/Constitutional Matters
5. Dr. Ismail Lawan Suleiman – Special Adviser, Population
6. Nasiru Isa Jarma – Special Adviser, NGOs
7. Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho – Permanent Commissioner I, SUBEB
8. Hon. Ado Danjummai Wudil – Executive Secretary, Guidance and Counselling Board
9. Dr. Binta Abubakar – Executive Secretary, Agency for Mass Education
10. Hon. Abubakar Ahmad Bichi – Director General, Cottage and Street Hawking Agency
11. Hon. Abdullahi Yaryasa – Member, Assembly Service Commission
12. Dr. Yusuf Ya’u Gambo – Executive Chairman, Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination
The Governor also made several key reassignments, which include:
1. Hon. Kabiru Getso Haruna – Executive Secretary, State Scholarship Board
2. Hon. Rabi’u Saleh Gwarzo – Executive Secretary, Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB)
3. Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai – Executive Secretary, Kano State Library Board
4. Dr. Abubakar Musa Yakubu – Medical Director, Government House Clinic
5. Yusuf Jibrin Oyoyo – Special Adviser, Students’ Matters
6. Hon. Isa Musa Kumurya – Special Adviser, Marshals
7. Hajia Fatima Abubakar Amneef – Special Adviser, Enlightenment and Social Mobilization
8. Comrade Nura Iro Ma’aji – Special Adviser, Employment
These appointments are expected to bring fresh ideas and leadership to the respective areas, as the Governor continues to focus on key sectors in his administration.
