Reports say no less than 45 people have succumbed to the measles outbreak that has spread in Adamawa North Senatorial District of Adamawa with Mubi and Gombi Local Government Areas,LGAs recording the highest deaths.
Speaking to journalists on the outbreak, The state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwame said the epidemic has affected eight wards in Mubi and seven in Gombi adding the 45 persons out of 308 cases have died.
Tangwame said al the 21 Local Government Areas excluding Lamurde have been placed on alert. He added that the ministry in collaboration with the government and other partners are handling the situation.
He also advised residents to ensure they take precautionary measures against the disease.
