A former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Nsima Ekere has been apprehended by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday.
Ekere’s arrest comes on the heels of allegation of diversion of funds amounting to N47 Billion through registered contractors of the agency.
Ekere was the agency’s Managing Director between 2016 and 2018.

Spokesperson of the Commission, Wilson Uwajaren confirmed the incident.
The former NDDC MD was the Akwa Ibom gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 polls.
