The naira weakened slightly against the dollar in the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday.
According to data from FMDQ, the naira fell to N1,537.03 per dollar, down from N1,536.58 on Monday, marking a modest decline of N0.45.
On the black market, however, the naira remained unchanged, closing at N1,665 per dollar, the same rate as on Monday.

Over the past two days, the naira has dropped by N2.65 against the dollar in the official market. Meanwhile, in the parallel market, the naira has held steady.
It is worth noting that in his 2025 budget proposal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu set the official exchange rate at N1,500 per dollar.
