The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved the appointment of Ebikibina John Ogborodi as the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council of the body. This came two days after the former registrar, Godswill Obioma died after brief illness.
According to the statement by NECO spokesperson, Azeez Sani, Ogborodi until his appointment was the Director Special Duties in the Council. He said the Acting Registrar’s appointment was endorsed by the Governing Board at its emergency meeting held on 2nd June, 2021.
Ogborodi until his appointment was the most Senior Director in the Council. All activities of the Council will continue unabated as earlier planned.
Ogborodi, an indigene of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, obtained his first Degree from the University of Jos in 1986 and a Master Degree in Learning Disability from the same university in 1999.”
He joined NECO in 1999 and has served in different capacities.
He has served as a former Acting Director, Examination Development Department; Acting Director, Office of the Registrar; Director, General Services and Director, Human Resource Management among others.”
