Nigeria: Armed Men Attack UNTH, Abduct Deputy Director

UNTH Enugu (News Central TV)

On Tuesday morning, armed hoodlums suspected of kidnapping stormed the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Ituku Ozalla, Enugu State.

Earlier this year, a resident doctor was attacked by gunmen on the hospital grounds and kidnapped, but he eventually managed to escape.

The kidnappers allegedly kidnapped a female deputy director of the hospital and a security officer.

A viral video shows an abandoned SUV apparently belonging to the abducted woman, a nurse, with bullet-perforated glass on the front passenger side.

The police and hospital management have yet to confirm the occurrence at the time of filing this story.

However, a reputable source who confirmed the story stated that it took place at the same site as a medical doctor was kidnapped a few weeks prior.

“This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous,” a frightened staff member observed.
