Nigeria: Governor Fintiri Eases curfew in Adamawa (News Central TV)

Adamawa’s State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has eased the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state to 12 hours.

The governor issued a curfew on Sunday due to the criminal activity of thugs who were attacking locals, breaking into houses and businesses, and stealing valuables.The thugs are said to have stolen food and non-food products from government storage facilities and other privately held food businesses, citing poverty as their justification. Recall that more than 100 people were detained in relation to the event.

According to Adamawa police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje, the command is putting plans in place to bring detained criminals before a judge.

The Governor’s chief press secretary, said the curfew has been relaxed from 6am to 6pm following a meeting with security chiefs.

The governor advised parents to engage their kids and enroll them in school to allow for the smooth running of businesses.

He warned hoodlums and other residents to abide by the curfew and remain cooperative if approached and questioned by security personnel.
