Senator Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, has started training 7,000 new recruits for the Kaduna Vigilance Service in order to support other security agencies’ efforts to combat kidnapping, armed robbery, and other related crimes in the state.
The governor continued by saying that the recruits were chosen from the state’s 23 local government areas and were being trained at the Police College in Kaduna, the state capital.
According to Sani, the recruits would support the work of security agencies and help to clean up the state of crime following their rigorous and in-depth training.
The governor noted that the lack of regular security agencies in the fight to address security issues throughout the state made the recruitment necessary.
He declared, “The Kaduna Vigilance Service is an additional security organisation. It will provide useful intelligence to the security agencies. With its familiarity with the area, bandits will not have anywhere to hide.
“Starting this training is a significant step towards keeping our promise to the deserving citizens of Kaduna State. In the blueprint for our administration, we vowed to improve KADVS’s workforce and “overall operational capacity. Since its founding, KADVS has cooperated with security organisations to weaken criminal elements.
However, we must contend with a lack of personnel to effectively fight off bandits and other criminal elements. Because of this, our administration made the decision to hire 7,000 people for the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS).
“Our local government chairmen, traditional and religious leaders, important stakeholders at the grassroots level, and security agencies worked collaboratively to recruit and screen the trainees.”
“This award is all about service to humanity in general and the capacity to put what one has learned into practise in real-world situations to improve the lives of others.
“What we are currently doing is setting up agricultural technology that would help us escape food scarcity and insecurity, improve our income, and generally improve the economy.
