In order to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari‘s arrival in the state, the Yobe State Government has declared a public holiday on Monday and Tuesday.
Garba Bilal, the state’s head of service, revealed this in a statement to journalists on Sunday in Damaturu.
The state’s Maternal and Child Health Care Complex, Ultra-Modern Market, and Cargo Airport will all be officially opened by President Buhari while he is in the state.
According to Bilal, the public holiday was proclaimed by Governor Mai Mala Buni to give the general public and civil officials the chance to welcome the president, who will be in the state for a one-day business visit.
“I write to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has declared Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th January, 2023 as public holidays,” the statement read.
“This is to enable civil servants and the general public to receive the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in the state on a one-day State Visit to commission projects.”
He said that on January 11, civil personnel will report to work once more.
