Osun State’s Governor Ademola Adeleke has named Kola Olawusi as commissioner for Sports and Special needs. Adeleke also named himself as the commissioner in charge of Works in the state.

This news comes as the governor swore in 25 newly appointed commissioners on Wednesday after giving them various portfolios.

A lawyer named Sola Akintola was sworn in by Adeleke to serve as the Commissioner for Health.

Following a screening, the House of Assembly confirmed the 25 commissioner-nominees and Speaker Adewale Egbedun made the announcement.

At the inauguration, Governor Adeleke declared at his office in Osogbo that he would not support any appointees who put on what he called a solo show.

He said, “I seek a very responsive government that listens and satisfies the wishes of the people. So, your goal must be a real service to the people. I value honesty and integrity in public service. You must be above board. Corrupt conduct will be heavily sanctioned.

“I love thinking outside the box in governance. As political heads of your ministries, be very innovative. Generate and implement new ideas.

“In times of national economic emergency, I love achieving much with little resources. Be prudent and adopt measures that reduce the cost of projects and services.

” I am, as we all know, a team player. There won’t be any room for solo actors in our State Executive Council (Exco). You must work as a team with a common goal to make a difference in the lives of our people.

“First and foremost, my leadership is about due process and the rule of law.” You must not cut corners. I will not compromise transparency and accountability.”
