Kadaria Ahmed, a renowned Nigerian journalist and media entrepreneur, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of One World Media. The announcement was made to members of the International Press Institute Nigeria, where Ahmed expressed her enthusiasm about the opportunity to contribute her wealth of experience in journalism.
“I am very pleased to announce that I have joined the board of One World Media as a trustee,” said Ahmed. “At a time of deepening fractures globally, the rise of misinformation and disinformation, credible journalism and authentic stories are tools that can be used to fight injustice, foster understanding, deepen community and promote our shared humanity.”
She emphasised the important work One World Media has been doing for decades and its expanding impact. “I am excited at the opportunity to use my expertise, experience, and network to contribute to this vital work,” she added, requesting support from colleagues and peers as she embarks on this new role.

Kadaria Ahmed is well known for her work in accountability journalism and has served on the Nigerian Board of Trustees for the International Press Institute. She has also received grants from prestigious organizations like the Ford Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation.
Alongside Ahmed’s appointment, One World Media announced the appointment of Peter Horrocks, OBE, as its new Chair. Horrocks, who had served in an interim capacity for the past year, brings substantial experience in media and economic development. He will lead the organization in its efforts to strengthen global ties with journalists, filmmakers, and media organizations.
