Six Boko Haram terrorists have been neutralised in the North East Banki of Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria, by the Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) land forces and air component.

According to reports, the assailants were ambushed and killed on Sunday along the kilometre-long Kumshe-Banki route.

According to Zagazola Makama, a security and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region who corroborated the incident, forces set up the ambush after receiving intelligence that dozens of Boko Haram terrorists notorious for kidnapping commuters and steal their valuables were spotted nearby.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Super Tucano was then sent by the Air Task Force with the necessary force package to fight the terrorists.

According to reports, six of the terrorists were killed as a result of the military’ patrol activities along the road, but others managed to flee. The NAF aircraft struck targets precisely, eliminating numerous terrorists in the process.
