NSCDC Deploys 862 Operatives in Yobe for Eid-al-Fitr

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Yobe State has deployed 862 personnel across 17 local government areas ahead of the Eid-al-Fitr festival.

State Commandant Adamu Zakari directed this deployment to ensure a hitch-free celebration in the state.

Bala Garba, the command’s Public Relations Officer, disclosed this information to the press in Damaturu on Sunday.

According to Garba, the 862 operatives deployed for the Eid-al-Fitr celebration in Yobe State were drawn from various departments including the Female Strike Force, Counter Terrorist Squad (CTS), Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Anti-Vandal Department, Intelligence and Investigations (INTs), Agro Rangers, and Operations department.

The NSCDC state imagemaker further urged personnel deployed for Eid-al-Fitr in Yobe to proactively carry out their duties with respect toward the people, as directed by the State Commandant, Adamu Zakari.

He also conveyed the Commandant’s well wishes to the Muslim Ummah during the celebration, while urging them to report any suspicious activities aimed at disrupting festivities.

News Central reported that the Federal Government of Nigeria announced Tuesday, April 9, 2024 and Wednesday, April 10, 2024 as public holidays for Eid-al-Fitr celebration by Muslim faithful.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government on Sunday. He congratulated all Muslim Ummah for the “successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.”
