Nigerian Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, along with two of his Fenerbahce teammates have been summoned by the Turkish Football Federation to appear before its disciplinary committee over an altercation with fans.
Last month, Osayi-Samuel and his teammates had a fight with Trabzonspor fans following a Turkish Super Lig clash.
The furious fans who masked themselves up, had stormed the football pitch after their team lost 3-2. The invasion resulted in a serious brawl between the players and the angry fans.
Osayi-Samuel, aged 26, was caught on camera in a viral video punching one of the supporters, who was wearing a mask and had run onto the pitch.
The rules and regulations of the Turkish Football Association establishes that the players could face a lengthy ban of up to 10 matches.
“Due to his [Osayi-Samuel] fight in the Super League match, he was imprudently referred in accordance with Article 45 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction. Players found guilty will be punished and banned for three to five matches,” the statement partly read.
