The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has expressed concerns over the rising cases of abductions across Nigeria adding that it shows how “insecure the country is”. He therefore called for a deliberate action to stem the tide of insecurity.

Peter Obi said this when he visited the five sisters of Nabeeha Al-kadriyar who was killed after she was abducted in Bwari Area council of Abuja, the Nigerian capital city.

On January 2, bandits abducted Mansur Al-Kadriyar, alongside his six daughters, when they attacked their house in Zuma 1, Bwari area of Abuja.

The bandits later released the father of the girls purportedly for ransom purposes.

Two weeks into captivity, the bandits killed Nabeeha, one of the girls, over the inability of the family to pay the ransom.
