Nigeria Police authorities said they have apprehended the alleged mastermind behind the tragic killing of passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna train, which occurred in March 2022.
The individual identified as Ibrahim Abdullahi, also known as Mandi, was taken into custody.
This information was disclosed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, during a press briefing on Thursday.
It was revealed that the suspect, also known as Mandi, had also played a role in the abduction of students from Greenfield University in 2021.
During the arrest, authorities seized 48 AK-47 rifles, which further exposed the suspect’s involvement in criminal activities.
ACP Adejobi said operatives had commenced investigations to uncover Mandi’s sponsors and the source of the weapons found in his possession.
