Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed he is close to identifying the source of a leak within the club that has repeatedly undermined preparations during a challenging season.
The Australian admitted on Friday that injury and team news has consistently emerged on social media ahead of official announcements, creating added difficulties for his staff and players. The issue came to the fore once again before Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final first leg, when Wilson Odobert’s absence from the line-up was made public hours before kick-off.
“There’s no doubt we’ve got a leak inside the club,” Postecoglou said. “Someone continues to leak out information and they have all year. I don’t know why, as it just makes our job even more difficult. You don’t want to give the opposition a helping hand.”
Postecoglou confirmed that the source of the leak had been narrowed down and that action would soon be taken.

“I’ve got a fair idea where it’s coming from. We’ll deal with it,” he continued. “It certainly doesn’t help us on game days. Sometimes it’s half-truths, sometimes more. You’d like to think everyone within our camp is working with us rather than against us.”
The manager’s frustration comes amid a poor domestic campaign for Tottenham, who are currently 14th in the Premier League with just seven games remaining. Injuries have plagued the squad throughout the season and contributed to their struggles, with a top-10 finish now in serious doubt.
Postecoglou’s future at the club may now hinge entirely on success in Europe. Winning the Europa League would secure both silverware—Spurs’ first since 2008—and qualification for the Champions League, providing a lifeline to what has otherwise been a disappointing campaign.
With the second leg in Frankfurt looming on Thursday, Postecoglou is expected to rotate his squad for Sunday’s league match against Wolves to manage the physical demands on his players.
“We’ll need a big game, a big performance on Sunday, so having some fresh legs will help,” he said. “But also looking into next Thursday, it’s not just about resting or managing guys. It’s about having players ready. It could go to 120 minutes, and we’ll need people who are prepared for that. So we’ll make changes based on all of those factors.”
