President Bola Tinubu arrived Owerri, the capital of Imo state, on Monday, January 15, at around 1:00pm to attend Governor Hope Uzodimma’s second-term inauguration.
Earlier, the president partook in a wreath-laying ceremony for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
Tinubu was welcomed at the Sam Mbakwe Airport by Governor Uzodimma, along with several other prominent dignitaries and leaders from the South-East state.
The Nigerian president is expected to also inaugurate projects in the state following the ceremony at Owerri’s Dan Anyiam Stadium.
The Anambra deputy Governor Valentine OnyekaChukwu Ibezim is also in attendance. Uzodimma who won a second term in office in November 2023 said on his official social media platforms:
“Dear wonderful people of Imo State, it is with profound humility that we witness this auspicious day of my inauguration for a second term as your servant leader,”
“Your unwavering support has not only filled my heart with gratitude but has reaffirmed our collective commitment to the great Imo State. Together with my incoming Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, and our dedicated team, we pledge to uphold the mandate you have entrusted to us.
