Private Security Withdrawn From Bobi Wine’s Home 24hrs Before Presidential Elections

Barely a day to Uganda’s Presidential election, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) has revealed that the private security company guarding his home has been withdrawn.

Bobi Wine disclosed this via an update on Twitter on Wednesday. He said the company has guarded his home in the last 12 years.

“So, the private security company that has been guarding my home for the last 12 years has been ordered to withdraw security at my house. Their supervisors showed up unannounced at midnight, disarmed my guard and said they had instructions to immediately withdraw my security, ” he wrote.

Bobi Wine has faced the toughest treatment yet by the government of incumbent President, Yoweri Museveni.

With some of his supporters killed, and some of his allies shot dead, he has resorted to a helmet and a bulletproof vest in a bid to protect his life.

The 38-year old Parliamentarian has taken his family out of Uganda and has disclosed that the government has held his friends and associates who arrived Uganda ahead of the election.

It is Uganda’s 6th election since 1996 and every previous poll has been won by Museveni, a war hero status holder for his role during the Ugandan Bush war and in wrestling the country from the hands of Idi Amin and Milton Obote.
