Egyptians are mourning one of their most prolific movie star and television host Hisham Selim, who died of lung cancer at 64.
Selim, who was the son of the late football legend and businessman Saleh Selim, was born on January 27, 1958, and was among the most recognised actors of his generation.
His career spanned about five decades with a debut film in 1972 beside the iconic star Faten Hamama.
He was in two classic films directed by the world-renowned Egyptian director, Youssef Chahine, including the epic Return of the Prodigal Son with the Lebanese superstar Majida al-Roumi.
In a now viral tweet, al-Roumi called him her soulmate in a heartwarming tribute.
