Regina Daniels Pushes for End to Child Labour in Nollywood (News Central TV )

Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has recounted the story of a young girl she met on a movie set and how she was forced to render assistance to the girl given her age and the circumstances surrounding them.

The Nollywood actress is now calling on celebrities and movie producers to put an end to child labour in the entertainment industry.

In a video she shared recently on her instagram page, the actress spoke about the exploitation of young girls by the nollywood industry and how it can negatively affect their mental and physical well-being and the emotional toll that young women can face in the industry.

She highlighted that young guys can defend themselves, but young girls on the other hand, will always be at the mercy of society which may expose them to trauma or emotional stress. 

The actress recounted the story of the young girls she met on a movie set and how she was forced to render assistance based on the age of the girl and circumstances surrounding her. The young girl said she had left home to work in Delta, although he parents were based in Port Harcourt. She added that she had slept in a variety of hotels with both male and female guests and had at some points been a victim of harassment from them.

Regina Daniels called on her colleagues to help put a stop to these incidences of child labour in the movie industry and thereby protect the interest and safety of young girls, as well as promoting ethical practices in filmmaking.
