Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has extended an invitation to U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Egypt for discussions on the ongoing crises in the Middle East, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency on Saturday.
The phone conversation between the two leaders focused on regional security, economic ties, and ongoing conflicts, including the war in Gaza. Sisi congratulated Trump on securing a second term as U.S. president, highlighting his great confidence among the American people and his capabilities in international diplomacy.
Sisi’s invitation aims to reinforce the strategic relations between Egypt and the United States while addressing complex issues and crises impacting Middle Eastern stability. The Egyptian leader also invited Trump to attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is expected to open in early July.

In response, Trump extended an open invitation for Sisi to visit Washington and meet him at the White House. Both leaders emphasised the importance of deepening economic and investment relations, as well as cooperation on regional water security issues.
The conversation also touched on the Gaza war, with both leaders discussing the importance of implementing the ceasefire agreement reached on January 19. Sisi reiterated the need for a long-term solution that ensures lasting peace in the region, emphasising the role of the international community in securing a historic and sustainable peace deal.
This comes as Trump has repeatedly suggested resettling Gazans in Egypt and Jordan, a proposal both nations have strongly rejected. Despite his insistence that they would support such a move, Egyptian officials have made it clear that they oppose any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
Since Hamas’ cross-border attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Israeli airstrikes and incessant bombings have killed over 47,400 Palestinians, primarily women and children, leaving much of Gaza in ruins. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, with growing international calls for an end to the violence.
With tensions high in the region, continued diplomatic engagement between Egypt and the U.S. will be critical in shaping future peace efforts and regional stability.
