Soldiers Smash Terrorist Base in Kaduna, Kill One

The army headquarters in Abuja announced that its troops conducting internal security operations in Kaduna state had destroyed a significant terrorist hideout at Yadi Forest, displacing hundreds of terrorists and killing one.


Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, stated that while performing deep clearance operations within Yadi Forest, the troops demolished the terrorists’ encampment, which were expertly disguised along the river lines, and seized multiple weapons and other logistics.


In a press release, Nwachukwu stated: “Troops of the Nigerian Army conducting deep clearance operations into Yadi Forest in Kaduna State have on Tuesday 20 February 2024 smoked out terrorists hibernating in the remote forest general area, resulting in a significant clamp down of their activities in the forest.

“During the operation, forces replied to an ambush prepared by terrorists with heavy fire, successfully neutralising one and scattering the others.

During the encounter, the brave men retrieved two Ak 47 rifles, six Ak 47 magazines, five rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 331 rounds of 7.62mm x 54 PKT Machine Gun ammo, and two PKT Machine Gun ammunition links.

Among the recovered items are 3 motorcycles, 2 power generators, 2 desert camouflage, a pair of desert boots, leg and hand chains used to fasten kidnapped victims, 9 Baofeng radios with 9 chargers, one Talisman vest, an international passport, 2 voter’s cards, and 2 national identity cards.

Troops destroyed terrorist camps hidden near the river.
