South Africa’s energy crisis is projected to dominate the much-anticipated State of the Nation Address (SONA 2023).
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to give a progress report on a number of promises related to Eskom.
The daily cost of the crisis has been estimated to be R1 billion, according to Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe.
At the SONA 2023, Ramaphosa will provide a status update on key promises related to Eskom, including the restructuring of the utility and its inability to maintain a stable power supply.
South Africans are eager to hear about the President’s plans for resolving the challenges faced by Eskom, and will closely scrutinise the implementation of these promises.
