Victor Osimhen says the Super Eagles will not underrate Guinea-Bissau in their next 2023 Africa Cup of Nations game.

Jose Peseiro’s men will take on the Djurtus at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Monday.

The Super Eagles defeated hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in their second game of the competition at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium on Thursday.

Guinea-Bissau are on the brink of elimination from the competition after defeats in their opening two games against Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea.

The Napoli striker, Osimhen said the Super Eagles will approach the game with determination.

“We aim for a strong performance against Guinea-Bissau. They will undoubtedly approach the game with determination, and we won’t underestimate any team, considering what they’ve done to qualify,” Osimhen said after the game.

“We met them in the qualifiers and know how strong they are. They defeated us at home, while we also beat them away.

“So, we are expecting a tough game against them. We will do our best to win.”
The Super Eagles will be favourites to record a third win in four games against the Djurtus and finish as Group A winners.

After two straight losses in Abidjan, Guinea-Bissau is already out of the tournament and has only pride in fighting against the Nigerians.
The Djurtus fell to a 2-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire in the tournament’s opening match, and they had a few things to cheer about in their 4-2 loss to Equatorial Guinea on matchday two.
