Salah scored the fastest hat trick in Champions League history after coming on as a substitute in the 67th minute with the game already won and having been left out of the team by Jürgen Klopp with their weekend fixture against Manchester in mind.

For the first of his three goals, he picked the ball out of the air with the lightest of touches inside the penalty area and with a delicate touch, slammed the ball in from a difficult angle for Liverpool’s fourth goal.

Five minutes later, he was at it again, this time beating Allan McGregor with some fancy footwork towards the top of the box.

Just seconds later, the 30-year-old finished off his hat trick by cutting inside and finding the far post with a wonderful curling attempt, setting a new record for the quickest hat trick in Champions League history.

Many Reds supporters in Africa and throughout the globe are keeping their fingers crossed that this could be where he kickstarts his season.
