Taliban authorities have apprehended a Nigerian national on charges of drug smuggling in Afghanistan.
The arrest was officially announced by the Taliban Public Relations Department via their social media platform on Saturday, 16th September 2023.
As per the statement, the individual in question will face severe corporal punishment before being repatriated to Nigeria, with the route taking him through Kenya.
“The apprehended individual, a Nigerian gangster who entered our esteemed nation using fraudulent documentation, has been detained and formally charged with drug smuggling. His intent while in Afghanistan was to acquire illicit substances for subsequent transportation to Africa. He is slated to undergo a rigorous corporal punishment before being repatriated to Nigeria via Kenya,” detailed the press release.
