Uganda call up 39 players for COSAFA and AFCON tournaments

Uganda national team head coach, Sebastien Desabre has named two separate squads of local based players to start preparations for the forthcoming 2019 COSAFA and Total AFCON Final tournaments in South Africa and Egypt respectively.

The Cranes will feature in the COSAFA Tournament in South Africa billed to take place from 25th May to 8th June. The 19-man COSAFA Cup squad starts training on 15th May at Lugogo.

Meanwhile, the AFCON Preliminary Squad made up of 20 players will resume camping on Monday 13th May at the Kabira Country Club and start training on the same day in Lugogo. From this squad, Desabre will select some players for the 26 man squad scheduled for further training in the United Arab Emirates.

They will join the foreign-based players from which a 23 man squad to compete at the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt will be named.
