The 41st International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) lit up the stage at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale on March 22nd, 2024. Among the night’s big winners were two Nigerian superstars, Wizkid and Burna Boy, who stole the show with their remarkable achievements. Wizkid’s infectious beats and undeniable charisma earned him the title of Best Afrobeat Entertainer, showcasing his immense popularity and influence in the music world.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy, known for his unique fusion of Afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall sounds, claimed the crown for Best African Entertainer, further solidifying his status as a global phenomenon. However, the accolades didn’t stop there for Burna Boy. His collaboration with Byron Messia on the track “TALIBANS” earned him the title of Best Crossover Song, demonstrating his versatility and crossover appeal. Additionally, Burna Boy’s visually stunning music video for “TALLABAN II,” also directed by Byron Messia, was honored with the award for Best Music Video, showcasing his talent not only as a musician but also as a visual storyteller.
