Star-boy Wizkid has just set a new music record, the multi-award-winning Nigerian musician has made billboard history again.
This time his fourth studio album, “Made in Lagos,” has now charted in the Billboard World Albums category for four consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023), spending over 100 weeks on the chart, making it the first African album to achieve such a feat.
This comes after, the ace performer born Ibrahim Balogun became the first Nigerian artiste to hit a diamond certification in the United States by the RIAA.
That achievement is courtesy of Big wiz being a featured guest on Drake’s 2016 mega-hit song “One Dance,” which has officially sold over ten million units.
Recall that Essence crooner had earlier secured the No.2 spot on Billboards year-end 2022 album charts for the same ‘Made in Lagos’ project. The 18-tracked body of work has truly enjoyed global acceptance, making it one of Afrobeats most successful music projects.
