Popular Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji has announced that his label, YBNL Nation had signed a deal with Empire Distribution on Tuesday, February 18.
With a roster of Fireboy DML and Olamide himself, YBNL has signed a joint-venture deal with the U.S-based record label and distribution company.
This deal is expected to help YBNL signees better distribute their materials globally and reach a wider international audience.
An excited Olamide revealed this news on his social media accounts.
“Happy to announce that YBNL and Empire got a joint venture deal. Myself and Fireboy with any other act i sign next ready to shake the world,” he shared.
Empire also confirmed the deal in a statement via its Twitter page saying, “Nigeria going global. Excited to continue this journey with you and the YBNL family.”
It would be remembered that Wande Coal also penned a distribution deal with Empire Distribution in December 2019.
Empire also handled distribution for two of Nigeria’s biggest projects last year, Patoranking “Wilmer” and Starboy’s collection, “Soundman, Vol 1.”
This announcement comes just a few days after Olamide released his 10th body of work “999” which is currently distributed by Empire. This EP features an appearance from his friend and longtime collaborator, Phyno.
