Paris Saint-Germain took a major step toward retaining their Ligue 1 title with a commanding 3-1 victory over fierce rivals Marseille on Sunday. However, the match between Montpellier and Saint-Etienne was abandoned due to crowd disturbances.
Fresh off their Champions League triumph over Liverpool, PSG asserted their dominance at the Parc des Princes in a top-of-the-table clash. Ousmane Dembele continued his blistering form by netting the opener, followed by Nuno Mendes adding a second before halftime. Despite Amine Gouiri pulling one back for Marseille, an own goal from Pol Lirola sealed PSG’s victory.
Luis Enrique’s squad remains unbeaten in Ligue 1 after 26 matches and has extended their lead at the summit to 19 points with just eight fixtures remaining. The Parisian giants could mathematically secure their 11th league title in 13 seasons as early as the next matchweek, depending on Marseille and Monaco’s results before their game against Saint-Etienne.

Enrique made minimal changes from the side that defeated Liverpool on penalties, keeping Dembele in the lineup. The French forward repaid that decision with his 21st Ligue 1 goal this season and 30th across all competitions, maintaining his prolific streak of 25 goals in 20 games since mid-December.
Fabian Ruiz, instrumental in PSG’s attack, provided assists for both first-half goals. His precise pass set up Dembele’s opener, while he later assisted Mendes, whose deflected strike beat Geronimo Rulli.
Marseille, now winless in three of their last four matches and suffering a seventh consecutive league defeat against PSG, briefly revived hopes when Adrien Rabiot capitalized on a defensive error to set up Gouiri’s goal. However, PSG continued to press, with Dembele hitting the post before Achraf Hakimi’s cross forced Lirola into an own goal.
Marseille remain just two points ahead of Monaco and Nice, who sit third and fourth, respectively, while Lyon climbed to fifth with a 4-2 win over Le Havre.
